I am applying to be a volunteer for Hunger Resource Network (HRN). I understand and acknowledge that my participation in the work of HRN may subject me to the risk of injury and my property to the risk of damage. I understand and acknowledge that HRN will not permit my participation without my execution of this Agreement.

  • Release

    As consideration for being permitted by HRN to participate in its work, I hereby release and forever discharge HRN, its directors, officers, agents, employees and assigns from all claims and demands of whatever kind or nature, whether known or unknown, that arise out of or are connected with my voluntary participation in the work of HRN.

  • No Employment

    I agree that I am not an employee of HRN because I participate as a volunteer and that HRN is not obligated to provide, and does not provide, workers compensation or any employee benefits of any kind.

  • Entire Agreement

    I agree that this Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between me and HRN, and supersedes all negotiations and statements made prior to or contemporaneous with the execution of this Agreement. I further agree that this Agreement may only be amended by a writing signed both by me and HRN and may not be orally amended.

  • Governing Law Forum

    I agree that this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and that any legal action concerning this Agreement or my participation in the work of HRN shall be conducted only in a court having jurisdiction that is located in Cook County, Illinois. I hereby waive any right I may have to commence any legal action relating to this Agreement or my participation in the work of HRN in any other court.

  • Invalidity

    I agree that, in the event any provision of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity or unenforceability of such provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its content and binding effect. I understand that this agreement is a legal contract that affects my legal rights. I represent that I am signing this agreement knowingly and voluntarily.
